Happy 2020!
I hope your year is going smoothly so far! Here in northern Alberta, Canada, we are shivering through -40°C temperatures without the wind-chill! Five days and counting! So while I’m hibernating and being serenaded by snoring (bored) dogs, I’m doing some planning for the year ahead.
I love January and all the possibility it brings.
It’s a great time for new beginnings, setting intentions and goals, and creating habits that we wish to bring forth. January is also a great time to reflect on the year behind and to evaluate how it went.
I find goal setting is a fairly YANG activity. We write down what we want to change or implement or achieve and in what time frame. Then we feel like crap when we don’t achieve that goal (at least I do).
Instead I like to bring in some YIN energy.
A softer and kinder approach. I like to think about how I want to feel in the year ahead. For example, I always want to feel spaciousness. So I set the intention to feel spaciousness. To me that means regular decluttering, practising qigong and meditation, and notice the space in between things, thoughts, and ideas. In doing so, I bring more spaciousness into my life.
You could even say I manifest spaciousness!
I also want to feel more empowered this year. This means I do some brainstorming in my journal about what would make me feel more empowered and set intentions around that. I would like to trust the universe and my purpose even more, to help more people to help themselves, to hear more stories from others who I have helped, to bring in more money to support my family, to learn/read more about energy and meridians, and to create new offers to support my desire to help others in a deeper way.
Get the idea? These intentions then lead to actions which are broken down into steps. It’s no good to set goals or intentions if we don’t act on them! The other intention I am setting is to re-visit my intentions quarterly!
I need reminders to keep me focused and on track!
This year I’m allowing myself some space to set my intentions for the coming year (see what I did there?). I didn’t rush into it January 1st. In fact, this weekend I have a date with myself (empty house!) to begin my 2020 planning and creation ceremony. For me this involves candles, soft music, the Susannah Conway workbook, markers, pens, tarot cards, and space.
I have some blog posts you may like to read within this theme of goal-setting:

Holistic Healing and Qigong
I help women balance and heal, creating space for happiness, connection, and love. At times, we can be stuck in a place that has become normal. By removing blockages and making some deep changes, our lives can return to a place of balance. That’s where I come in. When we are in balance our energy flows smoothly, we feel good, and our intuition can be heard. It is then that we shine our brightest! If this feels like something you need, please contact me and we can make a plan!
In addition to distance healing, I am a Certified Spring Forest Qigong Instructor and Master Healer. I enjoy teaching workshops and webinars on the energy of the seasons, healing, and Qigong. I live in beautiful Sunset Beach, AB, Canada.
I can’t wait to hear more about Path to Purpose! “Purpose” keeps nudging me, making me feel like I am missing the boat somehow. Maybe this is the boat! ?
Glad to know there is a Level 1 session coming up as well.
Thanks!
